"Very professional, state of the art equipment and very knowledgeable staff. I felt very confortable at my very first visit after spoken to Dr. Bistritz, he knows what he is doing, and I am extremely picky. I've been coming to this office since November for my Invisalign treatment. I totally recommended it!"- A.C. / Yelp / May 14, 2018

"Dr.B and his staff are so wonderful. I’ve dealt with many dentists, not only from my extensive work I’ve had done but I’ve also worked with a few. I must say he is by far the most professional dentist I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. He’s calm and thorough with what he explains. He listens to any and all my concerns. He always goes above and beyond for my family and I. We recently moved from Houston and I’m so glad that we found him as quickly as we did bc it isn’t easy finding not just a good dentist but great staff as well. The staff is friendly and never makes you feel pressured for anything more than what you are there for. They always follow up with appointments as well as remind me of my upcoming appointments. Thanks for providing my family with such great service:)!"- N.L. / Google / Jan 10, 2020
What to Expect
Upon a diagnosis of TMJ, your dentist will discuss several treatment strategies to try before recommending an invasive, surgical procedure. These treatments may include:
- Restorative dental work to align the bite
- Oral appliance therapy (such as a retainer or the use of a night guard while sleeping)
- Orthodontic treatment
- If the above treatments are unsuccessful, then surgical intervention may be necessary. This may include joint repair, joint restructuring, or arthroscopy of the jaw joint. Dr. Bistritz will refer you to a medical professional for a further assessment.
Dr. Bistritz may recommend things you can do to help with the discomfort besides just using medication for muscle spasms, inflammation, anxiety, and pain. It is important to exercise your jaw and rest it when needed. Be mindful of stress so that you are not grinding or clenching your teeth. Avoid chewy foods and eat a soft diet to prevent unnecessary inflammation. Use heat and ice when needed to help with the pain. Also, having good posture also plays a role in your neck and jaw alignment.
The cost of the TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorder examination and diagnostic imaging services will be dependent on the patient and the specific symptoms exhibited. During your consultation, the fees will be discussed with you.
