Dental Cleanings In Aventura, FL

Overview

Despite all of the brushing, flossing, and care you give your teeth and gums, a professional dental cleaning is ideal for maintaining optimal oral health. With routine cleanings, issues such as plaque and tartar buildup, cavities, and the early stages of gum disease can be taken care of properly. Aventura Dental Center recommends you undergo a thorough dental cleaning at our Aventura, FL office at least twice a year. Our seasoned dentist, Dr. David Bistritz, has the specialized training and tools you need to keep your teeth healthy and strong. Call our office today to set up a professional cleaning.

What To Expect

Dental cleanings are generally comfortable, but if you have sensitive teeth or gums, a topical numbing cream can be used. If you have trouble getting through a dental cleaning due to anxiety or a strong gag reflex, mild sedation options are also available. A cleaning may begin with an ultrasonic instrument that helps loosen plaque and tartar before our hygienist switches to fine hand tools (scalers and curettes) to carefully scale or scrape the buildup from the gumline and enamel. Once the deposits are removed, your teeth will be polished with a special toothpaste. If needed, our hygienist can go over good home oral care routines to help educate you on brushing and flossing techniques for better results at your next check-up.

Patient Testimonial

“It has been 15 years since my husband and I came to Dr. Bistriz’s dentist office. Griselle and the front desk receptionists and of course Dr. Bistriz are like family to me. We feel welcome everyone we go there and the most important of all is that our denture are healthy and an excellent hands. Thank you Dr. Bistriz for taking care of me and my husband. You are the best!!” – Luz C.

“Amazing first-time experience here. Front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful, would definitely recommend. Staff made sure I understood my treatment plan and answered all questions I had about treatment and payment.” – Tiffany S.

Treatment Aftercare

After the teeth are cleaned, Dr. Bistritz may perform an oral exam to check for signs of oral cancer and gum disease. To keep your teeth smooth and healthy, you should establish a home routine that includes brushing and flossing the teeth at least once a day. Dr. Bistritz may offer suggestions or specific instructions, like a special mouthwash or toothpaste to treat your specific concerns. You should be sure to schedule your next dental cleaning before leaving our office for six months or when Dr. Bistritz recommends you return. Waiting too long between cleanings can lead to longer appointments and more invasive treatments.

Insurance Coverage

Since a professional dental cleaning twice a year is considered a necessary preventive care procedure, most dental insurance carriers will cover 100% of the cost. Our office will check with your insurance company to determine your coverage before billing you directly. Patients without dental insurance should ask about our financing options.
