Take A Great Smile Back To School
- August 18, 2016
Hello and welcome to another August edition of the Aventura Dental Center blog!
Now that summer is winding down, we want to help you and your family stay on-track with your oral health needs as your schedule gets increasingly hectic.
Today we want to pass along our suggestions for preventive dentistry. Keep reading and then be sure to follow up with our team to schedule your next appointment in our Florida dentist’s office.
Prevention Begins At Home
It is essential to teach your children good hygiene habits. They are watching, so, be diligent!
The ADA recommends brushing for a minimum of two minutes, twice a day, to get the full effect.
Flossing is the only way to remove food, tartar, plaque, etc. that hides in between your teeth where your toothbrush can’t reach. Don’t neglect to do this daily!
A good mouthwash can add some protection, and will leave your breath feeling fresh. It is a nice way to finish off your daily drill.
The thing to remember is that no matter what you are doing at home, it will never be enough. So, please keep us in the loop!
Cleanings & Exams
When you come see us every six months, you greatly decrease your odds of dealing with gum disease, cavities, and other dental problems down the road.
When you are, we will look at your mouth for signs of trouble.
We have the tools and technology that you won’t find in your medicine cabinet. Our office features digital X-ray machines and advanced cavity detection systems. If we find any signs of trouble, we can come up with an action plan while your problems are still easy and inexpensive to treat.
And, obviously, we will clean your teeth too. Our professional grade cleanings are designed to eradicate any lingering tartar, plaque, bacteria and so forth.
You will look better, and feel better. Plus, we can take your prevention program further.
More Preventive Measures
Like we said, there is so much that we can do to keep you smiling. Some of the additional measures available at Aventura Dental Center.
An easy way for you to help strengthen enamel and prevent decay.
This builds a wall of sorts between your teeth and potential dangers. This is great for kids, but also helpful for many adults.
We offer mouthguards some great options that you can use to protect your athletic son or daughter’s teeth from harm.
